Chris started Last Wishes Funerals when she saw that people were really struggling to pay the often high fees being charged for funerals today. Our funerals come in at between £1500 (direct cremation) - £3000+, depending on your choices, but excluding flowers and catering (see Prices page).
At Last Wishes Funerals, we care for your loved one, and those left behind, to achieve those precious last wishes.
Believing that funerals can be affordable, we offer you as much choice as possible. Arranging alternative, independent funerals has been a natural extension of a career caring for people, and we feel privileged that people tell us we bring a human touch - we are people first, funeral arrangers second.
Trained with Green Fuse, the award-winning organisation for funeral directors and celebrants, Chris has a background in alternative health.
Working with a network of trusted contacts, we advise, plan, arrange, and lead funerals. We can also support you, should you wish to arrange the funeral yourself. With us, you and your family are welcome to be as involved as you want to be.
OUR ETHOS: TO MAKE FUNERALS LESS OF A FINANCIAL BURDEN
A funeral does not have to be overly expensive for it to be personal and meaningful - far from it.
So, how do we make funerals more affordable? We do this in 4 main ways:
- Keeping our overheads to a minimum;
- Helping you find lower-cost options;
- Encouraging you - with our help and guidance - to do as much as you wish yourselves;
- Not 'padding' the costs of ancillary services
Of course, there are still some quite high costs over which we have no control, in particular the fees for crematoria and gravesites, both of which vary from area to area.
